I have just bought this book and as an avid home-baker I can't wait to try some recipes out. I was just flicking through and found the recipe for crunchie. What is so exciting for me is that my mum was one of those children your great Aunt Ethel baked for in the village school at Chapel-en-le-Frith! My mum is now 83 and was a keen baker for all of her adult life and although her memory isn't great anymore, often told me stories of her happy school days and lovely puddings!
How lovely that this recipe is still going- I'm going to make some for mum to stir her memories again! Thanks , Emma x
