The Princess and the Pea
It was Eleanor's fifth birthday at the weekend, and we had a lovely party with all her friends to celebrate. We had great fun planning everything together, and Eleanor was a fantastic little party organiser! She decided to have a Princess Party (well, a Prince and Princess Party) as she wanted to invite boys too! We came up with lots of ideas for craft activities, games, party food, and of course the birthday cake!
Eleanor chose The Princess and the Pea as the theme for her birthday cake. It is one of her favourite stories, and even more special because when she was tiny she used to love sitting and eating peas out of the pod!
The little princes and princesses had great fun decorating biscuits shaped as crowns, frogs, glass slippers and ballgowns....
They made crowns and pointy princess hats....
We played "Princess Eleanor says...."and "pass the parcel", and sang "There was a Princess long ago..."
We finished with a delicious tea party - pale pink iced gems and chocolate crispy cakes are some of Eleanor's favourites!
And, of course, we sang 'Happy Birthday', and Eleanor blew out the candles on her Princess and the Pea birthday cake.
Miranda your princess and the pea bed/cake is amazing!
